Tray forming operation of paperboard: A case study using implicit finite element analysis

چکیده
Abstract The possibility to perform advanced forming operations of initially plane paperboard paves the way making products like food trays, plates, cups and other containers as a part shifting towards circular bioeconomy. As ongoing efforts expanding product range using paperboard, we performed analyses operation simulations. An implicit non‐linear finite element model is built more accurately than previous studies simulate tray process paperboard. Two different commercial paperboards are investigated. use an solver enabled inclusion creasing pattern into geometry blank resolving formation wrinkles during forming. material data extracted from tensile test curves investigated was fitted Hill's plasticity with difference in tension compression accounted for subsequent failure evaluation. results showed that creases vital getting correct shape formed important decreasing risk failure. also friction has big impact on hence stress levels, therefore supports means lowering between holder operation. A stochastic approach proposed determine probability boards. evaluation consistent field observations. developed enables precise simulations

15 صفحه اولDevelopment of Finite Element Models for 3-D Forming Processes of Paper and Paperboard
Paper materials have a long history of use in packaging products, although traditional paper-based packaging is limited in its shape and design. In order to enable more advanced paper-based packaging, various 3-D forming processes for paper materials have been studied. Since 3-D forming processes typically include the application of moisture and/or temperature, the effects of moisture and tempe...

15 صفحه اولDetermination of Buckling Limit of Strain in Cold Roll Forming through Finite Element Analysis
In this study, Buckling Limit of Strain (B.L.S.) is introduced as one of the most important limiting factors in cold roll forming process. B.L.S. is calculated by the finite element procedure. Then for two particular processes with existing analysis and experimental results, B.L.S. has been determined and evaluated. LUSAS 12.3 is used for finite element analysis. The results show that when buck...
